This is a really beautiful poem with a world of truth within it. We all do seem to have those places we can go to and feel miserable, but we all also know there is a place where we are valued and loved.

How true childhood pain never leaves and is buried deep until reminders suddenly appear. Unfortunately, adult pain can overwhelm you and plunge you backward.
