Hi Barbara, I will certainly be interested in reading your life raising four boys, while following your husband from base to base. It's a life I can imagine. A big hug, Ulla xcx

Okay, you've won me over. I can't promise to follow faithfully, since I can no longer sit for long periods of time, but this is of great interest to me because I love you, my friend.

I would rate this with six stars for its perfection in the telling, but I am fresh out, Barbara. Forgive me, and know that I not only enjoyed this, but want to encourage you to (INDEED!) write this book. So a virtual six stars will have to do. ************************!!!

(By the way, smaller 'bites' like this make it a little easier to follow a book. I know the challenge when we have to promote, but maybe a little less reward of phoney dollars would make offering 500 words instead of 1,000+ easier...?)

I'm pretty sure because these are short stories they will be in smaller sections. A chapter in a novel is around 3000 words, normally, so it's often hard to break them into smaller bites and keep unity. I struggle with that, and rarely post over 2000 words. I try to keep the novels as close to 1600 as I can. Thank you for the support. I appreciate it. Sending hugs, love, and prayers.

I was raised in a military family so I am familiar with the life. My father was an Army CWO, my stepfather an Air force Sergeant, and my husband a Navy Captain. Back in the mid-sixties, I gave serious thought to joining the AF myself, but doubted I would make it through boot camp. Truth!

I think your book sounds like a marvelous idea, and I have no doubt you would bring it to fruition in an outstanding way. Best wishes!

Writing about your boys reminds me of Beth's book about raising her children in Mississippi and Louisiana - boy, she had some crazy stories, as I'm sure you do.

You've listed several topics that your readers will relate to, which will cause them to want to read what you write. I've always believed that it's the way you write it that makes it interesting enough to read.

I look forward to reading some of these chapters. Thanks for letting us know what's coming.

This sounds like a wonderful project, Barbara, and I'm sure that in your hands, it will be very interesting. I, for one, am eager to read it, as you've really piqued my curiosity with this wonderful prologue. Sounds like you've led quite an interesting and varied life.

My older brother was also in the military (a doctor in the air force) and lived in Europe--both Greece and Germany--for a number of years. It made for interesting experiences, which I'm sure you also had.

I would really like to read this Barbara, it would be fascinating to hear from your perspective on what this was like. I think plenty of readers on this site will think the same as me. I can't wait to find out more.

Dear Sis in the Lord, I so look forward to reading more about you and your life in the US Army as a battered bride. I am still trying to as some call it "get my finger out" and get back to writing. Keep it coming.

Barbara.
By all means continue forward with the evolution of this novel of connected stories. I would be on board to reading it.

Everyone's life probably seems boring to themselves, but not to others!

Cheers,
John

Hi, Barbara

Well, this is exciting. I mean to get to see a novel developed if I can manage to read all the chapters.

I look forward to it. I've always admired people with breast cancer. Some, like a coworker of mine, work while receiving chemo and radiation. They were more likely to pick up infections and viruses because their immune system was weakened. I could not imagine.

I enjoyed reading your story

Good job. Thank you for sharing.
