What a clever poem. I enjoyed reading it. Instead of six lines, you said seven, how clever. This is a neat idea. Never thought of that one. So many talented writers here. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very clever and endearing verse. It brought a smile to my face just thinking about what all writers wish to do and that is make the world a better place. Well done.

This is an interesting take on the six line poem writing prompt. If only you had that extra line, we'd all be in a much better place. The meter is a bit uneven with a 7-syllable and a 6 syllable line thrown in with the 8s, but it doesn't detract from the words. I enjoyed it very much. Nicely done!

-A very nice presentation
and well written poem.
-I like your take on the contest,
the imagery, and rhyme,
as well as the humor.
-You do a good job showing
how effective you could be if
only you had seven lines.
-It would be nice if all of the
good things you mentioned took place.
-My favorite part is "the world pines."
-A good question at the end.
-A good entry; good luck!!!

Wish upon a star for that wish to come true tonight" If only seven lines would save this troubled planet of ours, yes, we all would be wishing you could write those seven lines.

An excellent entry for the Six Line Poem writing prompt. Isn't that always the way? When a seven line is what you have on hand and can write best, they ask for a dang six line poem! Maddening!! :-) Nice job on the poem.

Hi

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

I keep feeling like I've reviewed this already and that my changes didn't get saved. I had already documented the issues below, and I had asked you some questions about the flash flood which I'm going to do again.

Were you near this flash flooding? Did anybody die in the flash floods.

I lived in the Sonoran desert in a little town called Sierra Vista. It is 100 miles south west of Tucson. We lived very close to the border. There was a town called Nogales on the Mexican side of the border, but there was also a town called Nogales on our side of the border.

You probably live more towards Phoenix. I think the Sonoran desert might go up that high, but I'm not sure I know that it's only in Arizona and maybe Mexico.

This line broke your meter which had been perfect until then and was perfect after then. This line only has six syllables Maybe you don't care but it looks like you took a lot of trouble to have 8 syllables per line and iambic pentameter. So I would think you would care.

"Now they know; the world pines"

I enjoyed reading your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

I feel the semicolon provides the mental syllabic pause to match the meter. : )

As man! One line away from salvation! I really love the humourous way you incorporated the rule into the topic of the poem. An amazing idea. Very nicely written.
