Does going backwards mean each year that goes by with makes you a year younger. If you start at zero you would be erased quickly. This is another planet that need no global warming.

It might be nice to have a quick autumn once a year.

I liked this because it was scientifically factual had a rhyme in the last couplet. It probably should have been a contest entry. Thank you for sharing.

We have learned a lot about the planets during our lifetime and there is so much more to learn before we can relocate to another. Venus cannot sustain life, I enjoyed your poem Bill, love Dolly x

This poem, though refers to Venus, may be applied and interpreted in many ways. It could apply to a real beautiful and loved human or a neighbouring country that has refused to make progress but be a pain to family and neighbours. In anyway, it is a great piece of work that leaves the readers in imagination's lonely space. Well done, dear Bill.

Thank you, ESOSTINE. I see the broad applications you suggest.

Whoa! it travels backward? Is it the only planet that does that? (There's always one renegade in every group, isn't there? Even the planets!) What a super cool pic this is!! I like that you're giving each of the planets its due! xoxo

Thank you, Rachelle. Yes, Venus is going clockwise while we all go counterclockwise.

Do you think that's why it's the planet associated with females?...

That sounds like what we on Earth are doing now--rotating backwards. I like the line about the heat of Venus leaving a blister. Excellent rhyme with blister and sister. That's a fired-up looking picture of Venus. Very creative. judi

I wonder what the backwards rotation does in terms of what a "day" feels like on Venus. I read that it rotates counterclockwise but then every 243 days, it rotates clockwise. Is that like turning the clock back?

Something like Venus-minus time.

Hi, Bill
You learn something every day. I did not know that Venus went backwards compared to earth and compared to all the other planets. So you taught something to me with this poem
The photo in your image is astounding. I wonder if if it's real.. I thought Venus was more blue, but it all depends on the angle you're looking at. Nope. I'm wrong again. Venus does have that brilliant white yellow appearance that you show your image.
You rhymed the last two lines maybe on purpose maybe accidentally but they are humorous in any case
I enjoyed reading your poem
Good job. Thank you for sharing.

This is great. It sort of feels like I am in my favorite planetarium! I just wish Pink Floyd was playing over the speakers. Thanks for sharing and please message me when you get to Uranus. :-)
