Haha. This is funny. You story did a great interpretation of this well-known Normal Rockwell painting. Maybe in the future, you can get a a cat out of a dog using genetic engineering.

Heh heh, fortunately we've owned 22 cats and five dogs during our married life, all except one were strays that wheedled their way into our hearts, the Surviving one is a very cute Moodle dog, beautifully written, great post, blessings Roy

I didn't count the words, but I would bet seventy-five. A cute story accompanied by appropriate artwork. Good luck in the contest. I was planning on entering, but I could never tell the story I wanted with so few words!
