Cute, I think you wrote something similar awhile back. I had fun reading.
He sat down next to her and asked her if she did this all the time? (sat beside her)
After she turned around to face him Hildegard said, (him,)
"I sure hope so, said Hildegard," If I can be a bit selfish, I must admit, I sure miss sugar." ("I sure hope so," said Hildegard, "If I can be a bit selfish, I must admit, I sure miss sugar."
("No,")
He told her "He was a professor of languages at Oxford. (her,)
You can see him can't you Detective?" (You can see him, can't you, Detective?")

Somehow, element in this reminded me of an older post of yours. I expected your usual twist at the end, but this was more subdued. Only one teensy typo: "I happen to have a sweet tooth myself," said Johnathan, -extra h in 'Jonathan'.

Probably. My miniscule brain remembered something. That was probably it.

I guess, writing is what gives us all the opportunity to venture out and live an alternate life. I mean, for me, the imaginary world is much more exciting and entertaining than the everyday hum drum. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh dear me, Karen, you've knocked another one off. The Detective will be searching your packing boxes soon to check for any missing spar parts. LOL Cute story and an enjoyable read.
