This one is a little different, Melissa. Very interesting picture, also. Kind of a funky meter, but the single rhyme in the first three stanzas make it work. Good luck in the contest.

I love how you use nature, like the wind and the sea, to reflect the emotions of searching for and yearning to be with someone. The imagery of ships sailing toward each other, guided by divine forces, gives it such a peaceful yet powerful feeling. It feels like a promise of love, where the anticipation of finding that person makes the moment even more special. The repetition of "whispering hope" really brings out that sense of quiet, enduring faith that love will bring you together.

I really like free verse though will admit I find it difficult to write, to me these words tell of a loss and longing, I guess that is the beauty of this poem, it asks the reader to feel, very well written****kahpot
