My Autumn Afternoon

Hi Melissa,
Very nice poem! I enjoyed it.
Just look at all the orange colors in your picture... two little pumpkins, the autumn leaves outside, the candle & lantern, the pillow, the throw, and the curtain ties. And it's raining outside! A good book. Hot chocolate! Who could ask for more? Comfort on a cool damp evening.
"I sink into my cozy chair
while autumn nips the crispy air.
A book, a cuppa something warm,
I think I'll claim this ~ my new norm!"
And my favorite verse,
"Mulled scents of Fall flow through the air;
a spicy apple candle's flare.
It brings a sweet serenity
while nesting with my poetry."
The leaves have really started to fall this past week. They're all over my trail in Grand Bay. Big gray squirrels are hiding nuts for winter, up and down trees as I walk by. It's a beautiful time of year. I can't stop thinking about poor Sally & Jack Law with Hurricane Milton barreling into Florida tomorrow. They didn't evacuate, staying put to ride out the wind and rain.
Beef stew sounds so good! I haven't had my supper yet, and it's almost 7pm. Have you ever tried a little apple cider in your beef stew? It's de-lish-us! But not all the time, just sometimes.
