Halloween, my favorite time of the year. A time for the tiny tots to teenagers to dress up and Trick-or-Treat for candy. And us older folk too, love sweets and the joy of watching kids have fun. Thanks for sharing.

You have captured the spirit of Halloween perfectly in the well written poem. Be aware and beware is a perfect caution for the holiday.

Ooooo-OOOOOOO-oooooh!! This has the Halloween staples - moon, jack-o-lanterns, gypsies, pirates, skeletons - but then it folds in that super scary undertow: gnarled tree forms, ghastly shapes, foreboding air currents!

You definitely showcased both sides of Halloween. Me, I'm sticking with the happy side that includes lots and lots of CANDY!!!

Hope you do well in the contest with this spooktacular offering (like what I did there, Senyai?...)

I love all of the different takes on the holiday. It ranges from cute kids in costumes to evil demons prowling for souls. What a wonderfully written poem. Good luck in the contest! Have a great day, and God bless.

What a wonderfully written poem! I loved how you captured Halloween with such a playful tone. I thought the visual of the "huge October moon" illuminating the costumed kids is fantastic. I especially enjoyed the rhyme throughout. So well done. It's such a joy to read! Great job capturing the spirit of the season! Keep up the fantastic work!

You captured the spirit of Halloween really well in this piece, I love the image of the freshly cut jack o lanterns and I love seeing them on people's doorsteps. An excellent piece. Good luck in the contest.

This is wonderfully written my friend, and excellent, written in attractive language painting a great image of the goings on on a Halloween eve, the narrative highlights the difference between the innocence of children and the starkness of the narrative, well done, blessings Roy

A poem filled with all the delights and joys and dressing up that is associated with Halloween- some exquisite images 'An owl hoots, darkened shape atop a tree.'

To me you captured the many moods of Halloween here in your poem.

From fun to fright to the wind blowing to weather portions, it's all encompassing.

Nicely crafted. Best of luck in the contest.

John
