Claus is not dead, merely sleeping. Waiting for you to cross the Rainbow Bridge where all the animals have passed over to. Super photo and you were blessed to have him for 16 years. I have had cats all my life. I know how you must feel at his passing. Good luck in the contest. K xx

what a great tribute to your cat! DOC had given you a fine cat..
cats are remarkable .WHen I was a kid we use to live in the outskirts of a city .We ( Mom and the kids)would wait in the verandah waiting for my dad to come from the office. My cat would rush from inside and dash off to the gate and sit there Two minutes late Dads jeep would reach! So whe he dashes out to the gate my mom would get up to put the kettle on...His could sense the movement of the jeeps wheels on the ground I suppose...

Wow! Your poem really touched me. It's been almost exactly 5 years since I lost my own cat and best friend, my Luna. I miss her every day and night, and there's STILL days where I break down from missing her. There is no kitty in the entire world who could ever compare to her for me- I've actually considered getting a tattoo of her, although I don't know if I can get up the courage.
Your poem is absolutely beautiful, and you did an amazing job of capturing your love for Claus and how special he was. I love your descriptions and figurative language. You genuinely touched me with this poem- it's seriously beautiful.

I think It's a great little tribute, quite moving, actually, to your cat. I loved the subdued, almost solemn kind of voice, appropriate for a requiem, and I also loved that image of the waterfall. I think we've owned 12 cats, better stop before we get to 13, we remember them all, and they are missed, also five dogs, all of them except a couple lived till they were sixteen, we've only got a little Moodle dog left, beautifully written, blessings Roy
