I enjoyed reading every line of this masterly crafted poem. The last four lines were most striking for me,
'Some men may think that they hold sway
to guide a sinking raft.
Without the Lord who knows the end
that route's a hellish path.'
That goes to buttress the fact that the wisdom of man is like foolishness before God. Thanks for sharing your inspiration, dear Roy.

Your poem is excellent to read on a Sunday. Its sentiments on God includes the idea that 'Our time is just a moment's pause' to point out that mortality is brief in the eternal scheme of things. That was my favorite line.

Roy,
This is an awesome poem. It rhymes nicely and tells the story to completion.
You are correct in the fact that if we don't let God rule are path we are going to end up somewhere hellish. It's sad to see so many young people to make their way. All they have to do is turn to God and he will give them everything they will ever need.
Another stellar poem as usual.

I think that the church desperately needs to put the teachings of God first, and not be distracted and become arrogant to the point of self leadership. Collective speaking, this very thing is already happening. I take comfort in the knowledge that Christ, and he alone is one who determines who is his church. Left up to us, this would be a disaster. While the church should show and have love, it is charged with showing that love in a manner that is pleasing to God. Christ says that His cleansing would firstly start within the body.

Hi Roy
This is very interesting and informative. I'm glad I decided to review this one.
I never feel wise, but I do feel like I was put on this earth to help others. I didn't know it before, but now I know that the wisdom to help them came from God not from me. I am just a child in service to God.
Here it sounds a little off.
"Without the Lord who knows the end
that route's a hellish path."
May I suggest
"Without the Lord who knows the end's
a route with hellish path."
Thank you for sharing

Your poem carries such a powerful sense of urgency. The rhythm and flow is excellent. This feels like a call to action. It's a thought provoking poem that makes you think about what God wants for us. I'm moved by the intensity in your poem.

Comment from Begin Again
I've seen people shift away from God's teachings, and it terrifies me. The simplest things regarding kindness, truth, and humility are disappearing--even here. I pray that somehow, the Lord's word can bring us back together and into his light.
Hugs, Carol

This poem, Immigration, gets a power from the influx of humanity from wherever they were to wherever they are now. The key is to aim them towards God and the way will be made clear.
