Hi Cecilia, like you...I have always been fascinated
with thunderstorms...and as of today...I play a
thunderstorm and rain cd when I go to bed at night...
the sound of rains play a very soothing song to me...
and it always cleans the air when it stops...
I'm not real crazy about the tornados that it brings...
but I lived in Florida 21 years...and was never in one...
about 8 hurricanes...but no tornados...thank God...
your a very talented writers...and I like the way you go
into detail with your wording...
I love your poem...picture perfect...very well written...
love Linda xxoo

Thank you Linda for the kind review. I'm honored you think I'm talented. I won't let it go to my head I promise.
I have been through some hurricanes to living in NC and HI. Those at least you can prepare for, tornados not so much.
We have been fortunate so far with the tornados. They haven't found us yet and I hope it stays that way. I have watched a tornado form and that's pretty cool, but scary at the same time.

he never stopped...but he was ok...
I love your poems...and your so very
welcome...love ya...xxoo

Your free verse poetry certainly exemplifies the path and the pattern of summer thunderstorm. I've been in thunderstorms that turned into tornadoes. They're not as much fun. This is a very well-done free verse poem.

It's always a delight when the storm passes, cleansing the atmosphere so that the sun can peek out and survey the scene. Your free rhyming verse vividly builds up this weather feature of thunder, releasing its rainfall in torrents before coming to its subdued and peaceful conclusion. Well done, Cecilia. Debbie

Summer thunderstorms can be very devastating to approach and also devastating to us as we fear the worst from them. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Have a good day and may God bless you. Patricia.A

I love thunderstorms, like a child, I snuggle under the bedclothes as I feel safe and laugh, I don't think I've felt fright, but some cyclones they get in the eastern states doesn't sound good, our weather is pretty stable here. Beautifully written Cecilia, blessings Roy

There was a time in my youth that I loved the sound of thunder and lightning, but now I southern California we do not get much of that or twister either. I enjoyed the flow of your poem.

DonandVicki,
Thank you for the kind review. l love a good thunderstorm. Most of the tornados stay north of us in Oklahoma, which I'm thankful for.

You revealed here your feelings as the storm hits, the anticipation of the storm when the lightning strikes and then the thunder and torrential rain. I love a good storm and you brought the drama in this poem Cecilia.

(Jagged (lightnning) lights up the sky)

Wow! It felt like I was there, and it was happening. I suppose living in tornado alley exposes you to lots of threatening storms, hopefully not directly. I like that the ending says the storm passed, leaving the sun peeking through the clouds. Great job!
The sunshine peaks through the clouds (peeks)
Back to writing....
