I love that twist. Here was I expecting an axe murderer and it was so far worse.
Water contains the terrible poison, oxygen.
A terrible terrible element that we are all addicted to and is slowly killing every one of us.
A dreadful but very slow-acting toxin :-0
A fun story Carol :)

Thanks for another fine review, my friend. I am so far behind I don't know if I will ever see daylight. LOL Lost in one of your tunnels.

Cool story. It might have scared Claire and Emily, but I don't think it would have bothered Carol because she is quite comfortable with ghost that are nicer than most of humans.

Yes, it does appear that I have settled in with Eleanor and the gang...but then they don't get into the real "horror" of ghosts. Thanks so much for the review, Beth.

I can relate to being museless. You?
Never! You write a story about writing a story and make it shine like a new penny!
You don't have an "idle' gear...

You are so kind...I've landed back at home and there was no Christmas cheer so I guess I got caught between holiday merriment and ghostly thrillers. So you got a touch of both.

Oh... I hope Johnny was fine! Try to get some rest...
Do you ever?

You can't get scarier than that, Carol! Lol. I would have screamed too! It can get to you when you get so wrapped in what you're writing, that in the end it does seem to be real. Especially when a little boys puts his hand on your shoulder just at that very scary part. I enjoyed this one, it would have don't well in a contest being totally different to any other Christmas story. Well done, my friend. Love you lots, Sandra xxx

Thanks, Sandra. Glad you enjoyed it. I was caught between the bland cheerless house I came home to and the antics of Eleanor and Garth... a jumble of the two gave us this. Tonight's Matt's premiere so I am anxious for it to be a good one for him.

Let me know how it goes. I would be so excited!! I'll be thinking of you both. 🥰🥰

Thanks, my dear. Hope all is well. Looks like you might win book of the month. Outstanding! Told you that your stories are the best! Love ya...

No, I'm not winning. I'm not worried, I don't write for that, I write because I love to write. If some of you enjoy my stories, that's the bonus I want more. Anyway, I thought you were going to win, if anyone should, it's you!! I love it that you like mine, as much as I enjoy yours. 🥰🥰🥰

I do love your stories but now I see Rachelle has moved into the lead... such is life. I never thought I would win. I don't have enough followers. But like you said, I write because I love it and when others enjoy my efforts i am thrilled.

That's what our writing is all about, my friend. 🥰xxx

It sure is!

This sounds like it could be taken from personal experience lol. You claim to be easily frightened by horror and then you turn around and write some of the scariest stuff. cute story. Fun read.

Not really creepy scary...I don't like the blood and guts stuff. A little chill down the spine or a shiver or two that's okay. LOL Thanks so much, Marilyn.

The story scared the writer and her son so it has started off really well. It is good that her boss made her enter the contest. I thought this was a great audience for a story about a writer!

It's a bit different than the other Christmas stories but then, life is never the same. Thank you for reading and enjoying.

An excellent story, reminding me of the time our little girl crept up behind me one Christmas when we were assembling her new bike at midnight by the Christmas tree. I got a terrible fright. Lol. Well done.

This is a good one. If you can cut off all thought of everything and write until you feel the horror, it has to be a good story. She probably scared her son half to death also, although he seemed to think she was writing horror.

You're cranking the stories out. Hooray for you! I glanced over to see your numbers, which I'd noticed for the first time, and now I know why. Best of luck! You don't have that far to go to sweep the board. Thanks for sharing.

I like the story within the story. That would give me the creeps if I felt my story somehow unfolding around me-like I was creating it! Well told, creepy, but with relief at the end.
Nicely done!
