Thank you for sharing this renga poem with us. Yes, once in a while autumn does take on the hint of winter. We're having Texas version of that right now. It's only 42 degrees. I had fun reading your poem.

I was just out .Autumn is my favorite and winter my least favorite. My sisters took me to the library book sale. For $10 they hand you a brown grocery bag, you can fill it up with Video's c.d's paper backs., hatdbacks, Books on Tape, etc, I got about a dozen DVD's, and about 60
paperbacks. I filled my bad and half of hers! A good day. It only took 20 minutes once we got in All 3 of us were looking. My feet are doing a happy dance. Love you sweetie. Do you need me to send you some? Karen

I have a rolodex system of where to submit stuff. I'ts alphabetical, but I recognize some. I only wrote down the ones that are taking submits, and take fiction. Bethany I think does the best romantic fiction. Karen

I like this poem because it is exactly how I transition into winter. I rarely wear coats because I am usually only going from the car to a building. I just put on a sweater or two and carry a coat with me just in case, thanks for sharing.

Suffering Autumn
Cold freezes my ancient bones
Where is my damn scarf.
I love your poem, so, I thought i would try a practice Renga thingy on you.
What do you think... or should it only be two lines?
Argh, I wil get there.

Comment from Begin Again
Layering and more layering becomes the name of the game as Autun gives into to Old Man Winter and his blustery winds. It can come and than leave as quickly as it arrives as far as I am concerned.

Karen,
This is a great poem. I like the line,"Winter brings it's icy stare" It sure has felt like winter in Texas lately. That's the thing about Texas weather, wait a minute and it will change.

I edited thank you very much. I hate that it gets pitch dark at 6pm! That is too odd for me. Karen

Karen,
That's just winter time. When I used to work it was go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. It sucks.

Yuckity yuk. Karen
Comment from Jesse James Doty
The phrase "winter brings its icy stare" makes one believe that winter has a personality. I find that interesting and provocative. However, the last line puzzles me: Sweaters become coats. I don't know what that means. I welcome a clarification.

We wear sweaters in Autumn and coats in Winter.
Thanks for the read. Karen
-
I didn't know that. Living on the West Coast I hardly ever wear a coat or a sweater.
Take care, my friend.

I wear sweaters still, but it is getting colder. Texas rarely sees snow. But old bones do not like cold ar all. Karen
-
My old bones prefer the warmer climate.
Enjoy the weekend.
