Hi Douglas
Holiday spirits keep you happy without the alcohol that accompanies holiday parties. Some families, sadly, need the drinks to be able to handle the time together without a fight. This is the family who should learn what holiday spirit really means.

Hi Douglas, yes, being homeless can be no fun. I just read yesterday that homelessness has reached a record high of way over 700000 in the US. It's a staggering number. Small measures as in your area goes some way , but it won't cure the problem. Good Luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

The problem has plagued humanity since the beginning.

This is a great 5-7-5 poem. I am so glad your community is helping the homeless out. It is sad to see them this time of year or blazing hot summers, because they find no relief. We should all pray that Jesus will use the Holy Spirit to fill more people with the heart for the homeless.

I've often wondered about the homeless how they fared, we were in St Petersburg in Russia and the homeless slept in building entrances, I wondered how the survived in the winter, well done Douglas, blessings Roy

Living in India with 1400 million people of which half of them are unfortunate I can relate to this message .We have about 100 million rich people and about 400 million middle class So the gap between rich and poor are increasing. Charities are simply not enough .. we try to do whatever we can .

Excellent, yes, we all need some holiday spirit to the unfortunate ones, we have quite a few here where I work, though the weather is not so bad or cold, it is still wrong that they are in this situation, very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot
