I like that thought that every day is New Year's Day! God's mercies are new each morning, so that makes great sense. Good poem, with monorhymes in each stanza. Blessings and prayers for a wonderful 2025. Carol

Yes I believe that too! I tried to get my Sister to believe that, but she's not one to believe. Every day one is alive is a new day until one is called home and yet it is still a New Day just not on Earth. Thank you for the spreading your experience and love.

There is a great difference in concept of time when you are young and when your time is gradually diminishing. The good news is The Lord will accept you, whether young or old, and will forgive you.

Beautiful reminder, Roy! With the blessing of a new morn, we can start again if we have faltered and the Lord will bless us and show us the way. I feel His Love growing within me every day and know that because of Him I can strive to be the best that I can. Happy New Year!
Smiles, Carol

Roy,
For me, this was written clear and understandable (again, that's on me, not you).
You wrote this in storyline fashion never once diminishing the importance of God in our lives.
Thank you, my friend and a Hsppy New Years to you and family!

Hello Roy, my friend. Happy New Year! I hope it's your best one yet! Your verse does a wonderful job using the mono rhyme poetic tool. Good choices for end rhymes keeps this one smooth and humming along. Well done!

Comment from Elizabeth Delaney
This is a reflective poem that explores themes of time, sin, and redemption. The speaker transitions from regret over the past to embracing hope in the present, finding solace in faith. The imagery of sunlight, Christ's sacrifice, and grace evoke a sense of spiritual renewal and personal growth.

Roy,
What a great new year day poem. Filled with love of God and all he has done for us. When we were young days didn't seem that big of a deal. Now we are older and the days the Lord lets us wake up is a glorious one.
Well done my friend

Another gem, dear Roy. We all need to look into our hearts and ask ourselves can we do better? I'm sure everyone would find the answer is, yes, we could. I will try to do better this year, and reading at least one of your poems daily will help me do so. I enjoyed reading your poem, my friend. Happy, healthy, New Year to you and all your family! Love and hugs, Sandra xxx
