You're right. I really enjoyed your story. It kept me glued to the end with an unexpected career choice! It's not by chance autobiographical, is it? Keep up the great work!

Why do people keep asking if these stories are true?
I have been reading since age three. I was reading Micky Spillane when I was eight.I have enough books, tv series, ande movies packed into my brain pan to write pretty much anything. But whatever I write usually had humor in it somewhere. Thanks for the read and the sixes. Karen

Just teasing about if the story was true.

I have the skill, I wouldn't like the mess. :-)

I enjoyed how your herione went from a doting daughter to a hired killer then came home to celebrate with tuna fish sandwiches and oreos. This was a well conceived story. Gretchen

I love this story, of course I would, most of my stories have to do with vigilante serial killers. Your story is well-written very interesting from start to finish. Your character seems realistic, relatable. Good luck with your contest.

Thanks for the read and six stars, I used to write mainly stories about killing men off in various ways. But, now I write pretty much anything.
There are two really dark things you might enjoy. "A Room of my Own" (poem) and "Lorelei"( part of a book). To get at stories without all the trolling do this: pull up my page go to the portfolio button, push it, and you will see the listing start with buttons across the top. Hit the ALL button on the right side. It will list alphabetically my work. A book section is listed first.
"Lorelei" is in the book, "Death crimes and misdemeanors A-Z . After all the books comes everything else. "A Room of my Own" will be found there. What would you like me to read first? Karen

I am glad to read that you/your character is back to their old tricks again, the devious killing methods and set ups are great, and the background of the characters is a wonderful build up to why! an excellent read, very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Thanks for the read. I love that last line. Karen

Alright, Mildred, I'm gonna have to turn you in. I counted several murders here, and even though the bastards deserved it, I'm a law-abiding citizen, and that's going too far. Well, maybe I might consider it. Okay, I'll give ya Gloria, you let her off, maybe a second chance in heaven when she kicks out. You did help out Mom with the food, and you gave that last bad guy the big exit, so I'll let that go.
However! Stealing Lucy's stage name, McGillicuddy, is major theft, and ya gotta pay for that! My grandmother loved The Lucy Show, so ya went too far there, kid.
Other than that, all's well.

Thanks for the read. I had written about trailblazing female comedians and Lucy has been stuck in my head. And, for a writer it is such a great name. I loved Lucy who can forget "Vitameatavegamin"? Karen
-
I have to admit, I don't remember that strange line, but Lucy was undoubtedly the first. She opened the door for future female stars to follow.
-
That was a skit on the I Love Lucy show where she was auditioning for an advertisment on television for "Vitameatavegamin" a Toni's which has vitamins, minerals, meat, and unknowm to her, is 90% alcohol. They keep having her redo the part where she takes a tablespoon of the tonic. She gets drunker and drunker. It is hysterical. Karen

You used great imagery, I especially loved the first few lines. I like how you spoke of the victim so it wasn't just a blind killing. Nice touch to make it seem like a natural death. I enjoyed this read.

Thank you so much, I haven't seen you before. My favorite line was the last one. It cracks me up.I appreciate the review. Karen

Well there's no doubt you have a special way with words. Like your line: "Throw me down and have me, outfit." And again, you've found a gorgeous little redhead that would give any man a twitch in his trousers. Thanks for sharing.

Remind me never to ask you about your day. I might learn too much and become a target myself. How many redheaded illos do you have, anyhow? All I know is I went out with two redheads in my life, and I'm glad I didn't marry either of them. I'm sure you're a decent, peace-loving redhead, though.

Thanks for the read. I have a temper. But, I am a lady until you push my last button, and then all bets are off. :-)
Comment from Marilyn Hamilton
Great story with your usual amount of mind-blowing detail. She was sort of a female Dexter and Dexter is my favorite. Good job on this one. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the read and the six. I like the original
Dexter. It is so bloody, I was surprised how much I like it. Karen
-
you need to watch the newest one. It was great. Michael C Hall is still the voice of Dexter and they chose a guy to play him as a teen and growing up and he is an exact match.
-
I will (she said grudgingly) check it out. Karen

Karen,
This was a great story. I think you belong to the twisted sista' club. You like to write about killing people, so that qualifies you to join our club.
Story is well organized and flows nicely.
Well done

Some people thought I was too dark. They should have read "A room of my own", they would have fainted.
Thanks for the read. Karen
-
I have had people say that about my poems for the little shop of horror. It is a club that writes about death and murder, and all things creepy.
Some people are just to sensitive. You are part of the twisted sista' club so I get it.
-
I was totally surprised at how dark I got so easily with "A Room of my Own". I "Dextered". LOL
