Excellent work on the part of the girls. For a moment I thought they were going to come across Sam as the artist but that would have ended the story too quick. Now we know why we have never liked clown dolls.

Love and blessings

Ew, shivers. Funny clowns are one thing, but these sound gruesome. I'm getting the willies for some reason. Is there some connection between these folks and Sam? I just don't feel like the gals are safe. Hope it's just my weird imagination. I know you'll take care of these or give me a reason why not, so I just went ahead with the five-star.

I couldn't wait [to eat] 'til we [get==>got] back to town.

Everything from Clarabell to Emmett Kelly(omit==>,) clowns took center stage.

    Hey Renie,

I never liked clowns either, not even the smiling ones. I always felt, even as a kid, that they were hiding something. I'll get those edits done asap. I have 22 more reviews to go!

I think this book is going to be a hit if the site is any judge. It's not like I can afford to really pump it up. Then, again, I have a very devoted bunch of fans...take a bow, Renie!

Yup! I think you have a winner here, Gayle. It's a great story line and the characters--including the dogs--are shown superbly.

Ok, Gayle, you got me. What the heck is lavosh? I don't have a clue and couldn't figure it out from the context. We obviously didn't have that out on the farm! LOL! I noticed poor Amy wasn't offered any, either. Good job.

LOL! It's a Jewish flatbread, kinda like a saltine. They're the rage out here, as are many Jewish dishes.

No, Amy is on her best behavior, but I think she's feeling threatened by the new gal. We'll see.

    Thanks for the R&R!

Very interesting. This chapter adds a little more to the puzzle. My guess is that Sam and his hideout are somewhere near the area and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't related to the owners of the store. Very well done.

    Hey Frank,

The race is on, huh? Those girls have to get away from Sam and our team has to figure out what's going on before it's too late.

    Thanks for the grand review.

I haven't read the previous chapters, but the title caught my eye. I collect clowns. (Well, actually I collect Pierriots--the sad clowns.) I found this to be very professionally written.

    Hi Max,

Thank you so much for the fine comments. I appreciate them.

Well, if you have nothing better to do, you might want to go back and read early chapters. There's no bucks on, so you don't need to leave a review, but if you catch up, you'll understand things better.

    Hope to see you again,

Gayle this is another great chapter, and I feel the anxiety. It's like walking through shops along with the character. Solid writing and characters. I am enjoying the ride. No spag noted, fluid flow.

    Hey Cassandra,

Thanks so much. Old Town is a beautiful area of SD, huge old trees give shade all day and the cobble stones and stuff make it seem like 50 years ago, at least. If you ever get the chance, check it out!

Thanks for the comments and the R&R. See you soon,

Another excellent chapter, Gayle. This was a great follow-up to the last installment. Very well-written and suspenseful. Can't wait to read more.

This is much better than your final note implies. The narrative and dialog are spot on and the flow is excellent. Also, the content is interesting and keeps reader attention. Slainte, rhymer1

    Hey Rhymer,

You've been reading along enough to get the drift of the story. In this chapter, I felt it was necessary to take a bit of a breather and let the reader get to know the 'team' better. And now we have a new doggie! What fun!

    Come back soon, y'hear? :-)
