Quite easy to see why this has been selected as "All Time Best"....very good piece which really does have a moral. Gossip is so evil and such a waste of precious time. Its harm is long-lasting and painful to the victim; especially in instances where the gossip is false!!! Great work. Hugs and smiles, Susanne

What a fun little story! As I was about half way through this read I was thinking that this would be a great children's story to teach the value of not gossiping. I was just in the conversation of this lesson with my little girl a couple nights ago when she came home from school and started gossiping about another child, I was struggling for an "instant" example to teach her in a way she would understand at her age level. This would have been just perfect! ( She is a very mature 10 year old)

Gossip is such a duel edged sword. It cuts both ways.
I have never thought of the many ways or uses for this
terrible malady that some folks carry like their badge of honor. Nicely done.

Really loved this... it rhymed and flowed well, which pleases me... and of course the snippets of gossip and the daft names were most amusing. I addition to that, we get some amusing and entertaining notes and a moral at the end! Have bookcased to read again at leisure

Beautifully written with great rhyming and excellent flow. Very creative with the cute names and examples of gossip. And on top of that, a reminder we all need now and then. It's too easy to get caught up in gossip, even when it seems so innocent. Great work! Karen

I have just sent a letter to the mayor of your town, Saintly Sam. He will have a town meeting and get things ironed out. There are other good people in your town. I spoke with Righteous Rachel and Honest Henry, just the other day. This was a fun piece and I couln't wait to hear the dirt on... OOPS, I'm sorry, there I go getting caught up in it all, LOL cheers, grassroots Don

Well done. Your use of other terms for gossip as names was very clever and subtly makes the point that gossip is so pervasive that (virtually) everyone participates in it at some level.

This was so clever and well thought out with a moral that should be posted on refrigerators and note boards in offices. I have never much experienced that kind of behavior as I don't have neighborhood where people chat over coffee, and when I worked I worked and ignored the slackers and gossipers. But I found this to be so realistic and totally wonderful names you created for the characters. The dialogue was great interspersed throughout, and it just flowed along. No changes to recommend. Truly and excellent read. Joyce
