This is such a cute story, with food as the central stars, and a clever surprise ending. And I found so interesting the British expressions scattered throughout ("pop and see the neighbors"; pip; Mum). Best wishes to you, Jeanie Mercer

Wow, you have certainly put some work into this very long but entertaining ripe tomato saga. What would we do without having a fight or two with our brother or sister. Love the free verse presentation, and the surprise birthday.
Good luck in the contest and warmest regards,
Marijke

Excellent free verse poetry for this contest--and so quickly, with so little time to pen it. Impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed the romp with a thread of intrigue for the fun of it. A complete story. I really enjoyed the way you showed all the personalities, the events, and the grand finish in the kid's tone for the perfect shot in sis's eye. Very clever, creative and wonderfully done. Hope this does well. Good luck in the contest. Cheers. Ash.

Yes it was a huge squeeze to get it written in the time, but the story just flowed so I was lucky! Thank you so much for the incredibly encouraging review!! :)

This is really cute. It is descriptive and expressive which makes for an interesting read. It reads more like a story poem to me. I really like it a lot. I laughed so hard at what Timmy does with his food. I remember my six kids when they were small. They would make faces with their hot dogs or baked potatoes. They would stick faces on them with toothpicks and make them talk. I really enjoyed reading this very much. Excellent read, God bless you!

Very cute story about Timmy's adventure preparing his own birthday dinner and collecting his presents. How satisfying that he still got to squirt the pips of his jucy ripe squashy red tomato in his sister's eye. Enjoyable read!
