Hello Carol,
Just dropping by and got interested in your story, which is so true; us ladies must realize especially if you have a hubby who is retired needs a woman's attention.

Please forgive me for this cut and paste response. I've been having a bit of a thriller myself - been clearing trees, shrubs and weeds and a ringer called poison ivy jumped into the match. I lost and my eyes now resemble a prize fighter--swollen to the max. I can squint today so I wanted to let you know I appreciate your reading Thank you for your continued support and understanding...Smiles, Carol

Oh no Carol, poison ivy the evilest plant of them all.
You are so welcome Carol
Please take care of your precious eyes.

I can relate definitely. This is a great story Carol and I'm glad the writer decided what really is more important. And the reason his juices stop flowing when he's interrupted is because he's a man. Women are used to the interruptions:). Kids, dishes, cooking, all the fun stuff. I'm just kidding, really. No spag spotted.

LOL! Yes, sometimes our frustrations, creativity and sheer persistence get in the way of having a life. I'm glad they got theirs back.
Thanks for the good read.

Good writing with a good insight to human feelings and behavior. This breathes hope into the story and the dilemma of each person.

Hullo Carol ....
This is an enjoyable short story which will, no doubt,
prod the consciences of a few of your readers who are guilty of switching off the rest of the world in favour of writing.
There is nothing to suggest changing. I still find it strange to forget that you - the author - are a woman writing as if you are a man ... as I have encountered in some of your other stories as well. I must say, you do a very good job of describing the feelings and behaviour of a man!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.

This is a fabulous story. No use mentioning the impeccable writing, dialogue, vocabulary, exactly right word at the right time. The story is touching and meaningful to anyone who writes. How many times have I felt like screaming when my wife opens the door to my office while I am in the middle of writing something I finally got "just right" in my head? And how many times have I felt the need to compensate for my neglect of the one who inspires many of my storeis? You touched many nerves with me.Great stuff. JeffreyStone

Jeffrey,
How absolutely awesome...I am thrilled that you enjoyed my story and could connect. You are right! Many of us will see ourselves within these words. Your review means so much to me because I think so highly of your own writing style and the stories you craft. Thank you.

Hi Carol,
Oh yes, I can certainly relate to this one. Thankfully my kids are now gone from the nest and my only distraction is my guilt when I realize I should be cleaning house instead of writing. Oh well, the mess will still be there tomorrow!
Good job on this well written story. Thank you for sharing.

I think you've been spying on me to get ideas for your story. My job is the farm and it's about as demanding as writing is for others. Sometimes we let our work become too important.
Very well done, Buck

Ha, we all have the 9x12 room with our first acceptance hanging proudly over our desk. I think you got it right on....the way we can go hours and days alone while we write. How does our family put up with us. Enjoyed this story.

Yes, I do believe that we can all relate to this.
I especially liked your ending:No, I'm happy right here. Do you want to write?"
"No, I'm happy right here, too." I kiss her again, remembering that she is the source of my inspiration. "I can be a writer tomorrow."
There are too many times in my own life when I just went back to my deadlines.

Words,
I think we all can say we've been guilty of that at least once or twice, some maybe more. Thanks for enjoying the story. Smiles, Carol
