All life is constantly occupied acting on its most important goal. Whether trees, bees, hyenas or flowers, all are expressing their most urgent need. The qualifying factors within their actions are: at this time, in this place and under these circumstances. Since it is always here and now, when we are occupied with any goal, we can only affect our circumstances. The achiever works solely with the circumstances at hand. With goal in mind, the achiever will adapt or create the circumstances necessary to reach the goal. This is done with focus, skill and adaptability, among others.
The whole essay is fabulous, But especially the stanza I have included. I look forward to reading more!!! Debbie

My essays are intended to give me more insight to communicate better. They will be fleshed out into chapters for a book titled "From Now On" after I conclude the series. All comments and reviews I have received are giving me direction and have been invaluable in identifying flaws in my writing. Thank you for yours...John

This is a wonderfully helpful essay. I like how you begin with insights into yourself. Then, you detail how you educated yourself with specific books and authors.
I enjoyed your explanation of "Groundhog Day." I must have been out to lunch when I saw that movie.
At the end, you spell out how to get started. Perfect.

I hope you will make a book of these essays, if they are all as informative as this one.
It was clear and easy to read. But you are preaching to the choir to me as I am in a similar field. I would hope that anyone could read this and understand your points of finding one's own way through goal setting. Not doing what someone else does, because it works for someone else. Teens and young adults seem to struggle so with group dynamics, wanting to belong and now with FB, Twitter, etc. They hardly have time to do 'self'. They are driven, pulled and shaped from year one or should I go back further to earphones on the mother's 'baby bump'.
This is a great essay. Your use of the movie, was a good way to generalize it. Many will grasp what you mean by repeat, repeat, repeat the rut with this example.
Good write. I look forward to your next.

John, this is my favorite of your essays so far. Have you thought about placing them into book form here? It would make it easier for new readers to find the chapters they've missed. Just a suggestion. I think your reviews will show that many people can relate to the words in this essay. Excellent.
