This is incredible and should be sent to the veteran's administration to be hanged as a poster.
Beautiful meter and metaphor. Solid imagery.

This is a really great poem to read. Your sixth quatrain is my favourite. I love also the red background which makes the whole presentation crisp and attractive. This is such a wonderful tribute to those who serve our country so bravely and who sacrifice so much so that we can remain free. You do an excellent job here of taking us along with this person who has served and is on his or her way home. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem; I wish I had six stars left to give you. I am a veteran myself. I was a Vietnam era veteran, but never went to Vietnam, as I was an east coast sailor. (I joined the Navy on September 11 1969, who knew then what that day would mean). I got out in June of '73, to go to college, but after being a civilian for 5 yrs, I got bored and joined the Air Force Res. for another nine yrs. thank you for your fine, patriotic poem.

PS, I did not find anything to complain about. Good rhyme scheme, and a great storyline, about a subject of which I am fond of.
