What a sweet child's poem! The kids would love this one! Your poem not only was entertaining, it was good. The rhyming and cadence was excellent.

What a lovely, fun poem for kids!
I can picture this as a beautiful children's picture book.
Your poem has excitement and humour and lots of 'visuals' - just right to capture the imagination of a young child or the young at heart.

Very, very good. Well written. If my grandson were younger he'd love it. But at 17, he'd shrug his shoulders and say, cool. I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it with us. You may enjoy my poem, entitled "My Own Two Feet", and others at: fanstory.com/chowchow.

This is a very cute children's poem. I love the title, and kids will, too. It reminds me of the movie "How to Train Your Dragon"--took my granddaughter to see it, and we loved it. Good job here.

I've heard of the movie, but haven't see it. My grandkids haven't mentioned it, so I don't know if they've seen it either. Thank you for the review and kind words.

Here's another good rhyming poem about a dragon. This juvenile dragon is charming, non-threatening, and very socialized, 'cuz he played in the park with kids.

Like the previous dragon I read about, this one reminds me of a story called, "The Reluctant Dragon". I'm not familiar with the original written by an Englishman whose name escapes me, but I do have a copy of the Disney animated version. If you have a kid who likes dragons, I highly recommend it. The dragon is a poet -- how perfect for FanStory.

My one "criticism" is you didn't tell us what became of the dragon after the young narrator went home to tell his family about his great day with a dragon. He couldn't just disappear into thin air, could he? I mean, he just appears in the boy's wagon, so maybe he can appear and disappear at will.

This is a very entertaining read.

Now I have to rent a copy of "How To Train Your Dragon".

since I haven't seen it either. I don't have any dragon lovers yet. One grandson is 1 1/2 and the other four year old is crazy about horses and lives on a ranch. I will have to rent the dragon movie too, and see what I am missing. Thanks for the review. Te dragon will reappear in another installment of the saga.

Wonderful wonderful! I love it! How cute is that for a little dragon to want to go play at the park! I can picture the child pulling the wagon just as proud as can be, to show off the dragon to the town. The poem almost has a drum beat to it as well. Very well done and great for the prompt. Isn't it fun to get away from all the nature and serious stuff and just write whimsy? lol Best of luck.

ps. I bet if you looked online you could find a pic of a kid with a stuffed dragon. That would be so cute with this. :)

You are so right about the picture. I actually have a grandson who was 1 year old on Halloween, dressed as a dragon. Maybe I will use that picture. Thank you forthe kind review.

It's a fun story in a poem which kids will love. You brought out the playful characters of the little boy and dragon so so nicely to give a clear image of the activities involved. It is well written with a lively pace that made the poem more delightful to read. I like the ending very much. Good luck.

If you don't win, I can't fathom what the other fellow wrote. This should be a published children's book with whimsical artwork. I teach elementary school and the children would love this. I could use this thematically in the classroom. Kudos to you. I think you should win. Can I vote? :)
