The year President Kennedy died, was very disturbing. I was making fried potatoes on my stove. So very sad. It was like the clock had stopped ticking. Which is how his life ended. He'll always be remembered. Great writing.

Hi Linda,
November 22,1963 was one of the most memorable days in the hearts of Americans. You have wonderfully arranged the incident. The shock of the public, the moment when doctors realised they were helpless and the moment when Americans realised their Sunshine had gone in midday and the world become dark for them. Its an amazing way in which you have described it

I was 8 years old and I'll never forget this day. I remember my mother laying on the couch sobbing. A fine offering, Linda.
Sending you my best today as always,

This is the second of your assassination poems that I have read. I like this one the best so far. It's almost haiku-like in that you are attempting to capture a single moment in time. Your moment is the interval between the shots being fired and the confirmation of the death of the President. It must have been awful to have been there. Your poem makes me feel like I was.
Nice job.

This was one of those occasions where everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing at the time. Your verses are arranged very well. I like the way you've slightly separated the last line of each.

I wasn't born when this happened, I think. The ramervacations rippled through America were global and still are. This was beautifully written. Thank you for sharing and glad to read one of your poems. Its been a long time.

dmt1967, thank you for reading. For the last 1 1/2 years, I have been dealing with a steady stream of medical problems, one right after the other so have not had the time nor energy to write or be on this site. Attempting to 'catch up' right now although my broken thumb is aching . . .Linda

fabulous closing line. The mood and the emotion come to a climax here .You have poignantly portrayed the trigger happy cult slowly coming out in the world .

Hello,
In many ways the JFK event was worse than 9/11 - I'm seventy-two and and experienced both. I heard about JFK during my high school swimming class in Michigan. We were all unprepared for such dramatic events. Thanks for recapturing our pasts using poetry. - Lobber
