In this little poem the meaning comes through clear, perfect love is indeed Divine, I like your choice of words in the second line, "Wondrous thing," there is no doubt that Divine Love is a great wonder. However, love between two people can be cruel, particularly when circumstances cause them to part.
I think the poem is just right as it is, I wouldn't suggest altering anything. A lovely sentiment.
