I loved this poem so full of positiveness, it shows just how life is wonderful, so many choices are out there. when we are not fully able bodied or possibly feeling low, we need to remind ourselves of the things you have written in your wonderful poem. Life is not easy for many, to be creative and express ourselves helps tremendously, and yes you also say "paying attention to my spirit" we can find this in the world around us. we need spirituality, to balance our lives and help us to create our own happiness. Well done

It never hurts to have God confirm the positive for us, it certainly makes life easier. I was arguing with God about something he wanted me to do even to the last minute and I clearly heard Him say, "Your attitude will make you or break you. Talk about an attitude adjustment. Great piece. So glad you're back. God loves you and I do too.

Some days it does seem like we are a prisoner to our lives, but you're correct. We do have many ways to be ourselves and for us writing is very powerful.

I extend my heart and maybe some words of wisdom for someone who shares the same sort of prison. I know that you know when we embrace our situations that life opens like a flower to teach you and show you how beautiful exactly what you have is. I have felt this that you describe and I love how you end your verse watching the mystical dance. Although I always wanted to write, I didn't know what it that I was supposed to be writing. Disability is an opportunity that only a minority of us have the chance to learn appreciation and triumph. Hats off to you, my compadre

I know the feeling, Debbie. I wrote a more negative version of this in my recent poem TRAPPED. Click here to read it. I often feel like a prisoner in a body that refuses to provide me enough oxygen to walk far, and loses balance so easily that I have fallen. Sometimes it gets me down and I write something like TRAPPED, but the next day I'll write silly humor and laugh again.
By contrast, your poem is inspiring, as is your life and how you deal with it. Thanks for posting this. I needed to hear it. :)

Yes, I had a bad week last week. I am not sharing this with everyone, but I had some tests done last week and they determined I have some residual brain damage from my illness in May. But, life goes on and no sense wallowing it. It is hard when our bodies don't work like they should though. Thanks so much. Take care, my friend~Debbie
