Oh, yes, there are powers beyond brute strength. Sometimes strategic thinking and agility are better--as shown in this entertaining poem.

Hah! Where on earth did you come up with that hilarious photo, Anupam? That, coupled with your cleverly written words, really make for one gut-busting read, hah hah!
Oh, I'm saving this one in my bookcase. I have to show this one to my wife and kids, and all of their friends, and my cousins, aunts and uncles, and...well, you get the idea, LOL...

Hi, Anupam. this was worth a laugh, and best of luck in the contest. I love the idea of the Ninja cat. Sometimes it's the unexpected that works to one's advantage. Apparently the poor dog didn't see it coming. Sometimes the size of the dog doesn't make any difference. It can still be a sissy. This is clever with correct syllable count and great conclusion. This was definitely the underdog. judi

Aloha Anupam,
Oh those claws can send the largest dog running. Your words explain it well. Have a great day.

cunning Ninja cat
smashes dog's innocent face
He goes home crying
A portrait so very well described for an entry to a contest.
A very original poem written of course very well. Good luck. Terry

I saw this photo quite a while back and was going to use it in another prompt, but couldn't think of anything clever for it. The Ninja thing didn't even dawn on me...great idea, Anupam!! It does look like he's giving the dog a good kick and winning. LOL! Love it, and good luck in the contest. :)shawn

I love it.
First you've found just the right words in
a well written 5-7-5 poem.
Then you produced a stunning picture to perfectly complement those words and...
Finally a knock-out overall presentation.

Your use of alliteration(-cunning... cat; he... home) and consonance(-dog's innocent face) enhances this short poem.
Best of luck in the contest.

Yes, cats are usually too quick and too cunning for dogs - especially dogs that have been trained not to attack them! Our poor old golden retriever won't even walk past the cats because she knows she may get a swipe on the nose....
