I enjoyed the back and forth before the battle as well as the detailed imagery. I was left wondering what the King's worthless son was doing during the battle. Was he beside his father, giving a half effort while staying away from danger as much as possible, or cowering in the back. I enjoyed it.

Thank you very much. I was actually thinking about the prince. Maybe a story about him would be nice.

Very well written. Engaging. Good dialogue. If there were excessive adverbs, aw heck, I didn't notice. I didn't see any typos either. I think it was also called "Greek fire" was it not? Inspiration then perhaps came from his wife's ass? :)

Not my favorite genre, but you kept my attention. Entertaining really. The dialogue was on target. It makes me interested to see where this goes.

I liked your battle scene, it was very realistic. The whole story was well written, and with some humour. You made good use of language in the descriptions and narrative. It flowed along well and your characters were well drawn and likeable. I found 2 errors-hope you don't mind me telling you- first one in line 29, it should be 'foot' of the wall and in line 48, I think you may have meant 'tinder' if you meant wood. Enjoyable read. Faye

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

"stood next to his friend and king staring up at the great man.( lost in here a bit...)

Great:(his mother is also an ass, just with a huge perfectly shaped ass)...find a photo, please?

"Once more into the fray, once more to the gods we pray. By Zeus' will we shall win this day. Let no man abandon another. Fight for your lands, your wives and for the man besides you, for on this day, he is your brother"

Sorry for being a lame reviewer who just pastes your work, but this was too good..

Great ending, my heart goes to the King, the balcony must be rich too...keeps ears warm at winter...

You have outdone Massimo Manfredi and Wilbur Smith, and beyond them I am lost....

This was such an enjoyable read. Like the book you can't put down, it grabbed me in the beginning and held me captive to the end.
The characters are likable and realistic, the plotting is excellent and the ending satisfying. Very well done.
