a very well crafted chapter. I am assuming a crossans is something like a horse. One never know in fantasy. No a period out of place. Nicely done.

Just noticed the glossary.

Yes, the crossan is horselike, but with a back that slopes to smaller, muscular hind legs. Thanks so much for stopping by. Do come again. I enjoy your writing and appreciate your feedback.

Crossans, like horses, want to have confidants in their riders. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

I know nothing about horses, Charlie, or crossans. Thank goodness for Google as you'll discover in later chapters.

Good and believable story. Thanks for sharing it and keep on writing. I didn't find any errors. Good job of that too. It seemed like a short chapter though.

Much appreciated, Fandoodle. I'm glad it seemed believable to you. I don't think you've stopped by before. I hope this is the beginning of a steady readership.

Interesting names of the characters.

Klacso
""Then, I think you'll like this," he said, and he motioned toward the stable.

Klynch emerged from the stable leading four crossans by their reins."

Steamy
"Giln and Sheleck clapped and Zurn responded by blushing. "You promised I would have a crossan and now I have one." He was beaming."

Consoling and encouraging
"Klasco came over. "You're doing fine," he said, softly enough that only I heard him. "She's testing you. I think she sensed your reluctance."

Beautifully written and well edited. Jay Squires strikes again.

Ah, Daniel, it is you who strikes again, with kindness, and -- OMG, I just noticed the 6th star! Your excess of kindness! You know how much I appreciate your readership, don't you?
