Uh, oh. I have a feelings Earthlings are going to fail this test BIG TIME. ISIS goons will be the first to be vaporized, and the rest of the world will cheer, but as more and more of us join them in their fate, we'll sober up. Too late, perhaps. Great poem to make the reader think!

I'm not going to pretend to completely understand the poem, but it seems to be written from the perspective of one who is assessing Earth as a possible habitat, and discovering real perplexing questions regarding man's nature and behavior, questions we should all be forced to answer. Is that close?

Any society that does not value its women, nor give succor to its young is doomed to ultimate failure. Is that to be our fate? I do not know, but I am not overly convinced that we will be able to avoid the destruction that awaits such a society.

What is man's worth, not among the rest of humanity but in relationship to a Supreme Power? It all depends how strong is his covenant with God. Did we create him or did he create us? Are we perhaps God's reflection of himself? Maybe we don't need him as we go our earthly way. Whatever the case. It is said that God made guardian of his universe. And then there is the question of our souls and such cryptic references as Original Sin. Is there only one sin; our straying away from our rapport with God. The poem opens up many questions but I don't see the relevance of the closing line. -Ekim777

This is so touching and asks questions that we need to deeply ponder and then act upon. Excellent rhymes and near rhymes. This had a smooth rhythm and flows well when read aloud.

I'm sure who you're referring to when you ask who has the power of the gods. The poem is well written, even if I am confused a bit by the title of it. I still liked the poem and found it to be well written in a good poetic voice... John

This asks some very good questions for a visitor to this planet. I'm not sure humanity can answer them to their satisfaction. Even if we could, those answers would not be true for all of us. Some of us are capable of greatness, most are capable of goodness, and some could be called evil.
