Self esteem is important to motivate us to get out of bed every morning and face the day of trials & troubles with confidence....but not in our own wisdom, ability or strength, but in Him about whom Paul wrote "I can do all things THROUGH HIM WHO STRNGTHENS me." Philippians 4:13

Self esteem based upon self reliance is not good, because it leaves the Lord on the outside looking in; spiritual self esteem IS good because it has our self filled with the right kind of confidence in our ministry, in our appointments, in all that we do or say; as Philippians 4:13 says "...all things..."

Thanks Jerry for the review. When this event happened it was almost 30 years ago. My self-esteem is good now and my walk is with the Lord is much stronger now that it was 30 years ago.

This very same thing happened to me. Sorry but iT didn't work with me. Don't do mirrors very well. They always say you need to love yourself first before the healing process begins. You need to be happy in your own company. I studied NLP for several years as well as reading so many self help books. It is so hard. It can work if the person doing it believes in the self enough. my poor self esteem. Lost it years ago. Genya

I really liked reading this poem. My father who wanted a son and got me instead was always running me down so I had problems with self-esteem too. Thankfully as I got older, I didn't think as badly about myself. Is this a picture of you?
