Hi Ine

this is a very good poem about how money talks. Nobody wants to even look at a down and out. The sad reality about the human race.
Well written

Mary

Painful expression here and a strong opinion offered about the circumstances of those we see on these lonely dirty benches making nests for lost souls with no other place to go. This work pulls a lot of emotion and deep thought. It makes one consider "what might I do"... to help? to pity? or just....TO AVOID? hmmm! His Grayness:

Songs tell a story and you did this with these lyrics.
Nicely done and truly fits a lot of us.
Love the last part to pull it all together...
"It's sad but true, life is cruel."

This is the sad truth of our self absorbed society. We like people who are useful, that make us look good, that provide us opportunity. Those who are broken, mentally ill, disabled can't do that. Our streets have become and cast-away of humanity.

The truth in this world can and is all, too
often scary. I am reminded of song recorded
by a country singer/song writer.A rich man
sitting at a bar downing a glass of wine as
he spied an old grey, black gentleman cleaning
up the lounge. I love the art and you stir
my heart with these truths. Thank you.

The true tragedy of mankind penned eloquently by you.
Sometimes they need more than a handout. Sharing a pack of sandwiches or two and chat to show them that they are still part of the human race.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Ine;
-a very powerful poem with a picture just as powerful on the subject of homelessness where your picture that you have chosen is definitely relative and complementary to this poem.
-Your free verse is very touching, said but also true as you have stated in your writing. Your imagery is so expressive and vividly and demonstratively descriptive throughout your writing.
-The writing had exceptional enjambment throughout.
-I was very sad but I enjoyed your poem immensely and thought it was a very well-written piece of poetry.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you forever.
Alex

Hi there Ine
just on nit (so are the people, is (in) life.
But for the grace of God there go I.
When I was wealthy they were everywhere, now no more.
I have less than I have ever had as an adult, and am happier than I have ever been

Your poem is a wonderful commentary on life. It's so true, and that's sad. Unfortunately it is so prevalent in society. No one wants to see someone alone and homeless, and sometimes they are that way because they don't like to follow rules, but more often, it's happenstance, and for these people, there should be better answers than to have them on the streets. Good poem,
Rhonda
