I love the imagery of the shadows as they grow longer and change shapes in the sun. A nicely written 2-4-2 personifying shadows. Best wishes for the contest.
Bless you

What a lovely description of sunlit shadows in a winter's treescape, stretching out their fingers to the catch the first rays of dawn. The art of these short poems is to capture the essence in a microcosm of words, as you have done here.

Terrific job with a thought provoking poem, teresa. I love how the shadows change and shift with the sun and I think you've captured that motion to perfection.
All the best to you in the contest. This is a good one.

Hello, Teresa,
Nice 2/4/2, you have a good syllable count of well chosen words. The concrete images in my mind of the shadows and the tree are vivid. It is a very effective poem.

Shadows appear when light conflicts with darkness. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.

Wonderful contrast of dark and light plus personification of shadows. Compelling! Love the alliteration of S and consonance of W in all three lines. The word NEW is interesting...gives a metaphorical sense of dawn...transforming night to day. Well done! A strong contender! Good luck!

Ah, you are too kind. I didn't think I was even going to write something for this contest, but the words came to me as I took a walk in the park this morning:)
