This is beautifully written poem for this challenge and a marvelous addition to your book. Although I read her book, I was completely unaware of her shy, reclusive nature. Thanks so much for your fascinating notes. They add another layer of mystery about this talented woman.

    Hi Valerie,

Emily Bronte has been one of my absolute favorites since high school. I've been hooked ever since I wrote a literary analysis paper on Wuthering Heights and really delved into her persona and poetry, too. She was a strong woman, albeit reserved, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to share a tribute to her fine work. Thank you for the wonderful comments.

This is so very well done, my friend. I didn't know much about her before reading this. I did read Wuthering Heights at some point long ago, but not her poetry. I'll have to check it out. Hope your getting some rest, my friend~Debbie

    Hi Debbie,

My three hour nap did me wonders. Thank you for the wonderful comments. Emily has long been one of my favorites. It makes me happy to share her work with you. If you do a search (I can't remember where I found it) you will find her book of poetry available for a free download. It is in the public domain. Enjoy!

You've raised some very interesting questions about Emily. She did write completely different than what you'd expect from the timid girl.

You did a great job with this challenge.

Thank you for participating. 8-)

    Hi Yvonne,

I loved your windows topic. It was perfect for this piece and it worked so well with the Trijan Refrain. Thank you for all of the fantastic forms and topics in April! Your choices made fantastic additions to my NaPoWriMo book. I enjoyed writing this piece.

Is this the final entry in the book or are you so far to Westward that you have another day of NaPoWriMo still to go?

Well done to use the form of the potlatch as a vehicle for the other task. I remember using that combination last year. I have to confess that I have so far failed to finish any 19th century novel apart from Hardy's Barsetshire chronicles. Yes tha includes, Dickens and the Brontes, Mrs Gaskell, Trollope and the rest. I find myself asleep often on page one. It is a fault and when they make the films and TV series they work fine but the style simply sends me off to dreamland instanter.

    Hi Pantygynt:

This is the 30th for me, so I could add another day's worth of entries to the book, but I think I'll probably concentrate on catching up my reviews. As you know, I added a nonet to cap things off and then I went to take a nap lol I do still have two more pieces I wanted to pursue this month, but I may just save them for Potlatch. The forms hadn't availed themselves to inspire me yet lol

I've always loved the 19th century novels, but Wuthering Heights is far and away my favorite for the time. I truly admire the women that found a way to get published even if they had to acquire a pseudonym to do so. The most notable being far ahead of their time in pursuing their writing dreams.

Thank you for all of the support and this excellent review.

A beautiful poem, a lovely tribute to Emily Bronte. I like the repeats, especially in the first stanza...'peek through the panes.' I am an avid reader, but have never read 'Wuthering Heights.' And it's right here on my bookshelf...where it's sat, unread for over 40 years. Wow. Your poem is a wake-up call for me!!! Lovely, blessings....

    Hi Irish,

Prepare yourself to fall in love with Emily and her writing. I'd love to hear your reaction to reading the novel. Catherine and Heathcliff are two of the most compelling characters to ever grace the page. I'm happy to have inspired your to pick up that book, it is truly amazing. Thank you for the wonderful comments.

Great job on this Trijan Refrain poem, Kim! It's a great tribute to Emily Bronte. I remember reading Wuthering Heights in our grade 11 English class.

"Peak through the panes and pseudonym
The windows of her soul and whim" .... terrific!

Excellent rhyming and cadence! I really enjoyed this poem! - - Connie

    Hi Connie,

I read Wuthering Heights in 10th grade, I think. I fell in love with Emily Bronte's work when I wrote an analysis paper on the book and had to do extensive reading on the author herself. She truly was an enigmatic individual and her characters and poetry are magnificent. Thank you for all of the wonderful comments. I'm happy that you enjoyed this selection.

A very well-written Trijan Refrain on the secrets of Ellis Bell(Emily Bronte). You gave us a peek through the window of her life and her soul. She was just more than thirty when she died.

    Hi Sandra,

It wasn't just her that died in the space of a year. Her brother, Branwell and her sister Anne also died. It is said that they all died of Tuberculosis, although, there is one author that speculates they might have been poisoned. However, the cemetery that was just outside of their home is said to have been a contributing factor to the deaths in their family. They were all outlived by their father. There is one author that speculated that her sister, Charlotte, and her husband may have done something underhanded to cause their deaths (like poison) but I don't think those claims had any foundation. I do love to read and learn though. She's been a favorite of mine since high school. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I've just posted my 30th poem. I'm going to sleep now lol

Poem well written dedication to her.

Notes are rather extensive and informative.

Sometimes when a writer does that, the notes tend to overshadow the actual writing, and by the time a person has read the notes they have forgotten the poem.

    Hi Brett,

I am sure not everyone reads the author's notes. I put them there for those that want to be informed. It is just my way of sharing what I've learned about these other writers and poets or their stories. Thanks for taking the time to read and review.
