I used to blare this song and belt it out along with Helen Reddy circa 1972 while driving my parents 1969 mint green Rambler Ambassador. It must have been a sight!

Amen. Absolutely!!! My husband is a caveman. I wouldn't trade him. But...I roll my eyes a lot, ha ha. He finds opinionated women to be 'mouthy.' (I'm very mouthy) While men, who have strong opinions, must be well-informed, knowledgeable. I have a sense of humor...good thing. LOVED this!! Blessings...

I have a sense of humor too, but I don't when it is a total stranger using passive/aggressiveness to "keep me in my place", and that just happened, and happened when I was at the horse track also - loudly, embarrassingly. (which is what inspired the poem.)
But that 'sense of humor' is one more counter-attack used when a liberated woman tries to stand up for herself, isn't it? "I have no sense of humor; I hate men", yada, yada. ("No, I am just not interested in YOU." You are being inappropriate, ESPECIALLY when it's known that I am married.)
It's different when you have already chosen. HE gets away with it. No one else does though - period. Full stop. "What God hath joined together..." is part of the Christian wedding, yes? Neanderthal man had his chance when it's asked, "...speak now or forever hold your piece." LOL.!!!

I am not too surprised that you had to write this in 2017. I sometimes feel the woman movement brings jerks out in groves. I enjoyed reading this poem and I am glad you posted it.

It's funny Dawn and please don't take this the wrong way. I picked you as a Germaine Greer type and proud of it lol. Everyone deserves self respect..even men. Some chicks can be as bigger arseholes as men but we cannot tar every arsehole with the same brush hey. lol
Love your choice of song accompanying your write I remember when helen Reddy first sang this all the women's libbers were having orgasms haha.
P.S. good looking cave woman maybe I should hit her over the head and take her back to the cave?

Eve was plucked from Adam's side, co equal with him, one flesh, created to dwell by his side, in every way the equal of Adam, but as Christ gave His life for His bride, so should man do likewise, both in a literal and a metaphoric sense. When both my daughters left home to be married, I grieved, but needlessly, they are well cared for.
