I have friends who have come to Britain as recently as two years ago and your words are so close to their story it's uncanny........although still hard in many ways it's getting easier each day.....your words couldn't be more true Dip.

Acceptance,having to adjust to new things and new places is hard for many coming to this country. Many rebel because they feel they don't fit in and others have no problems at all. Everyone is different.

Well if you want to call them names you have , wops, wogs, slant eyes, slopes, Lebs, but I was trying to be diplomatic.
In Australia the wogs for instance were the Italian immigrants who were generally hard working and worked the vineyards or worked with stone and concreters. They didn't become standover merchants, demanding protection money racketeering and tommy gun laden mafia
in Australia like the wogs did in America

I enjoyed reading your well rhyming poem "Acceptance". I can relate to your poem (I am not a migrant but have seen much). With the latest influx of immigrants I feel their conditions are worse than back in the fifties.

Terrific poem Mark. If we are to embrace multiculturalism then we must embody tolerance.
There are absolute extremists in all races. Unfortunately though some of them are an introduced species to Australia...like the European Carp. No good for anything.
The cultures themselves must stand up and speak out against violence and extremist views when they are in another country. They can't expect the host to pick up the pieces and do it all.
Many hands make light work
Or is that
Lots of fingers make busy hands haha
Sorry, had to bust into some humour. These subjects I find a little depressing.
