Hooray! I was really hoping someone would choose "Sarcophagus". It just seemed like there might be so many really cool words to pull from it and you definitely found them! I especially like the use of "gash" and "gush". They go so perfectly with the spooky theme! I like that you've included vivid imagery not just for the eyes, but also for the ears and even the nose! The sights, sounds and smells of this very creepy night! Really well done! Thanks so much for joining in with this excellent piece!

LOL! I Love it, Mike, I must try one of these as I enjoy doing the anagrams crossword puzzles, writing a poem with an anagram title would be a wonderful challenge. You succeeded brilliantly, I've read a few now, and have been very impressed. It's perfect for Halloween, scary, in a fun way, which kids love. And big kids! You chose a good word with Sarcophagus with all those vowels in it. I had my photo taken in one when I went down inside the Pyramids a few years ago, amazing! Well done, I really enjoyed this one. :) Sandra xx ps, the Sarcophagus was empty when I went inside it! LOL x

Great work within the confines of the contest prompt. It is certainly scary and ghostly and in keeping with Halloween.

In my humble opinion, I think poets like Halloween best for poems. They seem to have more fun for it. LOL Thank you for sharing your wonderful poem and for the author's notes. Non poets like me, need them.

A very well-written Anagram with the word sarcophagus. Good combination of vowels and consonants always are a good choice to form new words from. Your anagram is a good example.

It has to be cheating but it is a brilliant ending. There are two other examples of either outright admitted disobedience. Three letter words hop, car and har are definitely outlawed. Anyway who cares when it is after all trick or cheat time. This seems almost as though you are vying with Dean Kuch in the horror stakes.

Eerie and spooky piece for the Halloween contest! Great rhyming words and rhythm was pretty good, but maybe needs a little tweeking in the syllable count for some of the lines to create a slightly smoother flow. Loved the warning at the end! Nice job!
