Hi there;
Thank you for this story about Smokey and his curiosity. I think it is great that you allow him to explore and seek out things he wants to know more about,

I love your stories about Smokey. and it's so nice you bring him in contact with other animals. The dog we had a long time ago loved other animals. We had two cats, chickens and rabbits at that time.Hedgehogs were not his favorites, but he was also very curious. Nice story and well told. Fia

Yes, it is always fun to read your stories about that cute puppy of yours - Smokey. I smiled and laughed at the hedgehog episode, and the deer imformation is really amazing. Good story.

Lol! I think Smokey is just well loved. It's great that he can explore other animals with you. I hope the hedgehog is okay. I would think it would just roll up into a ball.
One suggestion is to use Smokey's name again when you start taking about him:
"He chases birds..." This follows immediately after talking about the hedgehog so it would be good to refresh the reader's memory. Thanks for sharing.

Cute picture of Smokey and the hedge hock
and loved you short story. Now is that kind of a hedge hock that throws its quills
It can be very painful if Smokey gets some of those quills thrown into his nose.
I know so I had two of my dogs that found out don't irate a heck hog

I love the hedgehog. Do they live in the wild where you are? They don't here.
I have one as a pet in my classroom, and the kids hold him when they dare.
She's an albino, and blind, so doesn't really like the kids messing with her.
Thanks for sharing this charming story about your dog and the hedgehog!

I love the photo, Ine, and your story made me giggle. Many years ago we went out for the evening and left some cat food out for our cat. When we came home, we walked around to the back door and our cat came meowing up to us. When we reached the back door, we notice there was a hedgehog eating our cat's food, lol, and that was what she was whinging about. She wouldn't go near it, so I think she must have tried that first and got pricked. I loved your story, it brought back some lovely memories. :) Sandra xxx

I love dog stories and this one is cute with a good photo to boot. Well done and especially to dog lovers. Smokey sounds like a companion and friend more than a pet and that is good.

We have owned many dogs over the years. Not at the moment, we think if we acquired one, it would outlive us, (not fair on our daughters) but they are such loyal and beautifull family members. So well done Ine, may Smokey live a long, happy life, blessings, Roy
