Hi, Craig,
I read through this abc poem. Gives a vivid sense of a story in a short time, that opens the mind to filling in the blanks between. I imagined star crossed lovers on an airline, meet up and then, as I imagine them to be a steward and stewardess... they end up parting on different planes... thus ending the relationship. I've decided that both parties are heartbroken, and each thinking of eachother as the one plane takes off before the other has to leave. More likely a traveler fell for an attendant, and the traveler is watching their flyby love being carried away from the empty terminal.
I really like the use of Concorde heart...
gives the tone of a heart that's feeling airplane woes...
Also enjoyed the airplane metephores and similies and sounds and feelings that all relate back to airplanes to me. Even the tomb relates, as there are some who see an airplane as a flying tomb.

Thanks for the delightful rating, Turtle, and the great comments. There are indeed a number of possible interpretations. Both of yours make perfect sense. I'm so grateful you continue to review my work, even though I presume other demands are making it difficult for you to do a lot of writing yourself at the moment. I look forward to seeing more from you when you have the time :) Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig. This looks like a good entry for the contest. In many ways, the US is backward compared to Europe. We have no Concorde jets, no socialized medicine and bad infrastructure with inferior rail service. I used to hear sonic booms all the time when jets went slower. But do not hear them anywhere. Not sure why. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing

I don't think Europe has Concordes any more either, Pam. I seem to remember they were retired after a couple of nasty accidents. Thanks for the good luck wishes and the lovely comments :) Craig
Comment from Gloria ....
That's a sharp looking plane, eh? Not one you'd want to take a nose dive in that's for sure. Concorde you say? is Concorde heart an anti-romance thang? Well I should say this is a fine poem for the debut of the category with all the key elements of a failed romance.
Good luck in the contest with this beauty, Craig. :)
