You did as well as anyone could with 75 itty bitty words! It sounds like plenty but I bet you had lots more you could have shared! That's how I feel when I write these--or the 50 word count (which is -- like -- three sentences it seems! I have a grandson named Matt...he'd LOVE to have a dog!

I used to shy from these flash fiction challenges but I find it's great to be so disciplined! I end up writing, like a hundred words and then "trimming the fat"--LOL----Karenina

Awww. Man's best friend -- in this case, Matt's best friend, Petey.
I do believe that our pets are special angels. They bring us joy, comfort and unquestioning love. A person without a pet has never met God.

That's a sweet story, Teri. I think it's wonderful when children get to love a pet early in life. My neighbor told me a story about her son leaving a t-shirt for his dog. The dog missed him so much when the son went to college, he took that t-shirt everywhere! There's such a connection between kids and their pets.

I'm always happy to hear someone adopted a shelter pet. So many waiting for a loving forever home. Through prayer, Matt was given the perfect dog for him. We should never underestimate the power of prayer.
