I am enjoying your story very much Earl. I know I read one chapter but must have missed one. I will try to be more observant.

If a story is worth reading the length won't matter to the reviewers on here who are serious about what they read. We learn as much by reviewing as the person being reviewed. This was another excellent part, I'm really enjoying the story. I love Janie, she has a lot of gumption and Mighty Beaver. Well done, my friend, can't wait for the next part. :)) Sandra xx

An excellent story Earl, great characters and plot, and the right mix of characters, good conversation between the Indians, discussing things, it would probably help giving the ages of the characters, in the character line up. particularly Janie, (I thought she was a child, obviously much older, well done Earl, great job, blessings, Roy

Great job, Earl. I like your colorful characters and the rollicking humor of Doolittle... until he got riled and tore into ferret face... It will be interesting to see how you develop the interaction between the dark haired lady and Doo...

Good job.

This was an enjoyable chapter to read. I liked the way you switched from the four of them -Doo, Janie, Clancy and Mighty Beaver to the two Indians- Swooping Eagle and Lonesome Owl, then back to the four of them and Smythe and Doo's pa. You made the switch very smoothly and provided lots of information and details. It was great the way you had Mighty Beaver make the poultice for Janie's feet and offered a brief description of the contents and their purpose. Very enjoyable, well done.

Whew. This is long and may be better as two posts. I like the interaction between the people and that you've bookended with the grandmother's storytelling. My favorite part was the use of willow and elderberry poultice.
