This is a very good addition to the book. The chapter flows well. It is an easy read to follow. I think the powers that be need to leave them alone. I think if they can convince Amelia that Gladys is there as a ghost and can help that would be great. I also think the powers to be are mean. They think it is mean to want to watch them do the spooky thing. I am now on Mildred's and Veronica's side on this time traveling thing and the powers to be. I look forward to the next chapter. Well done.

Thank you so much, Sandra, for this lovely review. Your thoughts on the powers-that-be did make me a smile. Mildred and Veronica will carry on regardless, and not worry about them. Now they have the hard job of convincing Amelia that Gladys is still here in ghostly form. Hmm! :)) Sandra xxx

This is so clever. Back and forth between timelines. You definitely have a creative mind. 1915, now this is something I get, having just finished a book set in 1905 and the sequel right around 1914. Your dialogue is so appropriate for 1915. Ameilia, Gladys and Mildred are great names for the period. I like the tension. Good work!

Yes. I have one book with a developmental editor and the other is still in "the oven."

You will have to tell me when it's published. Did you post it on here, or write it before you joined?
reply by Sandra Montanino on 08-Apr-2019
No. I just last joined last Tuesday and I'm not sure how it all goes down around here yet. It doesn't look like there's a contest for first chapters yet. But I'm so flattered that you asked, though.
reply by the author on 08-Apr-2019
No, I doubt you will find one. I joined in 2011 and I've never come across a contest like that. The novelists/short story authors, all post their chapters the way I am. It's great for feedback and edits. My book began as a short story in a contest on here which I won. A couple of years later I brought it out again and thought I'd try to make it a little longer. This is the result. Two already published, and this is the final book of the trilogy. It just went out of control! lol. It would never have happened without all the fantastic encouragement I received on here. You sound like a lady who will go far. I look forward to reading your work. I'll fan you so I don't miss any. Welcome to Fanstory! xx

You are a sweetheart! Did you self-publish? My book has been accepted by two literary agents, but nothing happened, so I am now going to publish it myself. It's historical fiction, loosely based on my grandmother's life. The problem with traditional publishing is you have to almost market it yourself anyway. I've had two offers to make it into a movie, but they both fizzled. Oh, well.
reply by the author on 08-Apr-2019
That is the problem. They say one thing and get you excited, and then nothing. Yes, I self published in the end, it didn't cost me a penny, (I'm UK) and the books have come out at such a professional standard, I was very pleased. Yes, it doesn't matter which way you go, you have to do the promoting. There have been some amazing stories written on here, some much better than you can buy out there from many well known authors. I wish you luck with yours. Any help I can give you, don't be afraid to ask. xx

This was so interesting! I like the relationahips between all the characters. Youve done
a good job with the dialogue. Its so smooth and confortable like we are sitting with them chatting, giving our opinion on Mildred's love life The spooking is hinted at subtly and makes me want to read ahead! Great write!

Another great chapter in the life of Veronica and Mildred. What will happen between Tommy and Mildred? Maybe she will stay with him since she doesn't really belong anywhere now. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Thank you so much, Rox, for reading and reviewing. The Powers have a little bit of a problem now, one they can't relate to. :)) They have to let her continue there as she is very much needed in solving the current problem. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Great chapter. That Veronica is always thinking!
Just have a couple suggestions;
-The Powers-that-be, each with a goblet of wine in their hands, sat around the table and chatted amongst themselves.
-"it was obvious to anyone who saw her that she was worn-out." I don't think you need the hyphen in this case.
Glad to see the powers-that-be are leaving Mildred and Tommy be.

Thank you so much for your helpful review, Rhonda. I'll sort those suggestions out now. I'm glad that you approve of the PTB not interfering at the moment. Well have to see what they say once this assignment is over. :)) Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

You did a great job with this chapter, Sandra. I like how you divided it in the 2 parts. the discussion the power to be had was interesting. Of course the part with the women trying to figure out how to spook The VA was the best. Your lines flow smoothly, I see no suggestions to offer. Good job and thanks for sharing. I look for the next chapter eagerly. Jan

This was so enjoyable to read Sandra. It was refreshing that the Powers To Be were now aware of the romance, thanks to Leif. He also pointed out that Mildred was a unique case. I liked the idea that Veronica and Gladys were going to convince Amelia that Gladys was still around, of course with the help of Mildred. Between the four of them, the admiral doesn't have a chance. Very well done, hugs and smiles.

LOL, I put it in the wrong box, I know you've been here a lot longer than that. I tell you what, though, since Tom has changed this format, I get so muddled when I reply to someone, as you saw! lol. You must have thought I'd lost the plot!!

Excellent my friend. Glad you got the "powers" to see the entanglement with a romance occuring.
Now, get on with spooking Charles LOL. I love that part.

An excellent fast moving chapter that kept me reading to the finish. I'm ready to read more. I want to sure how Mildred convinces the Aunt that she has a ghost that needs her help. Have a great afternoon. Shirley

This is a task that Mildred has never done before, normally she tries to keep their presence hidden. So, we'll see how she does soon. Thank you so very much for the lovely six star review, my friend, I really do appreciate your constant support. Big hugs!! :)) Sandra xx
