-Nice artwork, Pam.
-Notes are appreciated.
-The imagery is good,
with "garden arenas."
-I like the concept of
the "dance contests"
and the concluding lines
about the twist.
-Thanks for sharing.

Good to see you back, Pamela! Appreciate the info about the mantis and how it is this insect that gave us the "twist!" Enjoyed your painting and your humor!
But I feel sorry for the poor male that gets eaten afterwards!

This is adorable, Pam. Not only do you provide interesting actual information, but you personify the mantii and the gardens, making them relatable. This is a fun poem to read.

I really like your artwork, and it perfectly illustrates the message in your creative tanka. It is an excellent posting and a good addition to your Nature's Dancers Series.

This is a very good Tanka poem. Not only are you a talented poet,
but you are a very good artist. I love the title of your The Mantis twist
for your artwork.

Hello Pam, a good tanka and very amusing. Written true to form, this is a fine ekphrastic poem. 'insects perfected the twist eons before we found it' - LOL! Not many people know that LOL! - Not a contest piece ? It should be. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Hello Pam,
Wonderful painting and tanka to match.
I like how the flowers dominate the visual
and frame the center mantis attracting the upper one.
One suggestion on your poem: I would remove the period
after line three. This would allow line three to pivot
and apply to three line and the bottom three.
Nicely done
