Your moving, cautionary poem sends a powerful message about wasted opportunities, wasted goodness, and the fact that we can't rewrite history. The last stanza provides a hopeful note. Line 8 really touched me!

This is a nice take on the mirror prompt. So many of us vow to do better once the calendar flips to a new year. Your imagery/analogy of the clown works well. Clowns hide their emotions and appearance, while mirrors tell the truth.

You are right, if we clearly look 'in the mirror' - likely we will not like everything we see.
'An unhappy clown face,
Having fallen from grace.'
