I love reading the slang words and phrases die the UK. "spend a penny" - as an American I love to hear these things and use them in unsuspecting friends! I am so sorry to hear about your pain, hope you feel better soon

Thank you, Alli. I'm always dropping our slang phrases in my stories. To me it's a natural way to speak. I'm delighted you like them, and that you'll use them on your friends. I'd love to see their expressions when you say you want to spend a penny!! Lol.
Thank you for your kindness about my dreadful shingles. I don't recommend them to anyone! :)) Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Good for Tania! She's looking at all options and she's preparing to defend herself. However, just like Grant warned Monica, those same weapons could be used against her. Hope that Reg was in the area and heard her wrestling with the table.
I wasn't sure how Reg was going to bug the phone. Is it a landline? Will he enter the home to do it? I thought they all used cell phones.

Yes, the majority of houses have landlines here. Whether he uses it or not, Reg doesn't know, but is always prepared. When Grant asked Carl where Reg was, Carl told him he was in the flat bugging it and putting cameras around.
Thank you so much for another lovely review, Helen. I'm delighted you approve of Tania's plans to get out of there. Lots of action coming up. Warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx

Finally she went in the action mood, and I am pretty sure that she will find a way out of this idiotic situation and be able to punish that mother fortune thief. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

I pray that you are recovering from shingles, Sandra.

I found nothing amiss. Your story flowed well with great details. I like the way you included Tania's thoughts in italics. Bravo for her. She is a strong woman when it comes to what she is passionate about and also the way she thinks things out. I'm thrilled she found herself a weapon. That Colin is one crazy man. I hope Tania escapes from him soon. Maybe she will escape without Grant's men breaking in to rescue her. Colin needs to be in a psych ward.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care and speedy recovery.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you my dear friend. Your prayers are so appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed this part, and Tania's thoughts to come up with a plan. Now she must put it into action when Colin comes back.
Thank you for reading, my friend. Warmest hugs. Sandra. xxx

That was an intense, suspenseful chapter where we didn't know whether Colin would walk in at any moment. You held the suspense well.

You know me ... I found a few things for you to look at:

and her blanket they were laying on. [... her blanket they were LYING on.]

'I didn't think it would be that easy,' Grant murmured, disappointment coated his words. [To use "coated," you'd need to start a new sentence beginning with "Disappointment." Use instead, "disappointment COATING his words."]

If I don't spend a penny soon, I'll burst. [That must be a quaint British-ism]

Keep 'em coming!

That expression goes back to when we had the first public toilets and it cost one penny to open the door. They are free now, but the expression is still commonly used today.
One day I'll remember the lie/lay usage. To lay something down, as apposed to lie down. Thanks for picking it up, Jay. The 'coated - coating, was changed after the first reviews, but another thank you for that. It might not have been.
Thank you for another lovely review, my friend. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

Oh, gosh, Sandra:

Shingles around your waist? I feel your pain. I had shingles when my
daughter was in college - there is absolutely nothing fun about it.

I had never heard the term 'spend a penny' but I knew what it meant
because of the way it was used in context. It is quite a quaint expression.

I can't wait to read the next installment on your novel.

No, there isn't, Rdfrmom2, it's so painful to have anything touch it.
    :(

Thank you for reading this part, my friend. We have a few expressions that some countries don't know. I think it's nice to keep them going. This one, to spend a penny, goes back to the first public toilets when it cost a penny to open the door. Even though we don't pay anymore, we still use that phrase. It sounds nicer. :)) Thanks again, my friend. Sandra. xxx

I'm sorry for your shingles Sandra, I have friends that have/got it, but I know that it's darn painful, I'll pray for healing. Surely Coling can't just vanish, he must realise that kidnapping will be attached to him, and even if Tania escapes, she will alert those around the place, perhaps his obsession has blinded him, but I'm sure you've thought that through, well done, blessings Roy

Shingles are awful! This is the second time I've had them. Apparantly there is a vaccine to guard against them, unfortunately, it's too late once you have them. I'll be sure have it when this bout has gone.

Thank you for another lovely review, Roy. Now, you don't really think I'm going to tell you what happens with Colin??? I really love it that you are into my story. Thank you! Warm hugs, dear friend. Sandra xxx

This is another wonderful chapter in your book. I could feel all the emotions Tania went through, and her excitement in getting a weapon.

You must have had chickenpox as a child. I did, too.

No clue about her whereabouts. Maybe he doesn't intend to come back. She'd better use that table leg to beat the doorknob off and get out. This is so realistic. It's just like being there. Great job, dear SATP.

Aw, thank you, Yvonne. That is such a lovely review. To say it's realistic has made my day. I tried to put myself in her position and think what I'd do, and then added a bit more determination on her part. Thanks so much for the gold star, and the fabulous review, dear SATP, you are a lovely lady! Warmest hugs, and lots of love to surround you. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra, This is another wonderful chapter and a great continuation to the story. The urge to spend a penny is felt by the reader, and then the small triumph of having sort of a weapon is also shared by the reader. That she's left without Internet access doesn't surprise me. Now, what's next? Great writing! A big hug. Ulla xxxx

Thank you so much for the golden star, Ulla, and the lovely review. I had wondered about putting in the need to go to the loo part, but then thought, what the heck, that's a natural part of life. So far, most people have commented on the words to 'spend a penny' saying they love our British expressions. LOL. Sorry I've been slow replying, I'm finding it difficult to do anything with these painful shingles. Have you had any snow? Madrid is covered! Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra, I'm so sorry you suffer from shingles.
Of course you had to put in the need of the toilet. It adds to the credibility of the story.
No, we have been lucky in the Denia area. No snow whatsoever, not even here in the mountains where I am. Rain and could, yes, but now the sun is out and the temps are going to rise to 15 at least later in the week. Much more like it. Big hugs back. Ulla xxxx
