I feel vulnerable in big rooms with lots of people so I understand a little bit about the discomfort from one's environment. This is an excellent 5-7-5 entry.

Hi Spangle,
Thanks for such an interesting review! :))

This is a good mix of poetry and artwork. It looks like she is putting on her hat to protect her against a coming storm.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Wonderful five seven five poem. I always like these short Japanese expressions of life and nature. I also like the artwork you chose for your writing. Great job.

My dear wife suffered from agoraphobia, and still does from time to time, but she's very brave, she treats it as completely irrational and ventures out anyway, she's very brave. Thanks for exposing the hat thing, and these other phobias, beautifully written, good luck in the contest, blessings Roy

Hello Roy,
Thanks for your review and thoughts. Your wife is very brave as agoraphobia is hard to beat. My mother had it later in life.
Take care.

It?s such a difficult thing to overcome

This is an extremely interesting expose of a phobia I had never come across before. It seems strange that such a tiny gesturenas wearing a hat can calm the poor sufferer. Well written.

Hello Katherine,
Thanks so much for a great review!

A good entry for the contest. I don't think I ever heard of that particular phobia before - a fear of empty spaces. Thank you for giving descriptions of the different phobias that people experience.

This lovely senryu paints a good picture of your feelings; I've not heard of kenophobia before ( the opposite of my claustrophia).
If putting on a hat is your safety blanket , then it's not silly at all.
Well done and thank you for sharing.

When we live in cities all the time we derive comfort from buildings being close by and suddenly when we are in wide open spaces it becomes breathtaking, I enjoyed your fine write here and I can identify with your words, being a city dweller myself, love Dolly x

Your words were a delight to read :))

A wonderful exploration of like words. Agoraphobia is my bane, but keno is a blessing for me - I wish you well in the contest...your entry is quite striking and well put-together.
