Carol, such a beautiful piece. God knows the heart and many will be surprised as to who is in heaven. God is merciful and gracious and is not influenced by prestige or status. Best wishes for your entry.

I am getting slower by the second and every time I think I have a handle on being polite and telling everyone how much their efforts and words mean to me (truly mean to me) I discover I have just fallen further behind. I appreciate that people actually enjoy what spills from my aging brain and couldn't find more happiness than sharing my writing. I thank you for your time and thoughts.
Sending a basket of smiles and hugs and apologies... especially to those I've left waiting for days.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
May cupid sprinkle you with much joy!
Always, Carol

Fantastic job, Carol. I didn't even think of attempting this one. You have summed up very well how sins are forgiven and we all get to go home to our Father and his loving touch.

I don't think you could have used 39 words more effectively. This is beautiful and heartwarming to think these peoples painful journey on this earth will have a glorious welcome to Heaven

What a great entry for this 39 word challenge! And what comfort it is to know that no matter what people suffer here on Earth, the Lord will welcome and bring to perfect joy and peace in Him in Heaven! Best wishes in the contest!

Exactly what I was trying to say and that their story is already known to our Lord regardless of what the world might say. He sees and knows our hearts and welcomes us home.
Hugs, CArol

Very good entry for this contest. Good use of the words that were given.
So glad God looks on our hearts, and does not judge us for our station in life, all who call on Him can receive salvation and eternal life.

Hi, Anne... Yes, I am grateful as well that God looks at our hearts and not our mistakes. Rich or poor we are all equal in his eyes. Thanks for the kind review.
Hugs, Carol

You are welcome, Carol. Hope you have a great week

Great for the writing prompt. Because of the word limit you were forced to be more direct than usual in the spiritual aspects and could weave as much of your imagery into the story, but the tale does the trick for the prompt in a very remarkable way.

Thank you so much. I had to write and rewrite numerous times because there was so much I wanted to say, but 39 words, six sentences and three chosen words limited my ability. I am glad I could make the necessary points stand out.
Hugs, Carol

An interesting tale.
The flow is good. The language is appropriate to the subject. The message is clear.
Suggestion:
The lesson would have been even stronger if the homeless person had no major redeeming qualities. This almost makes it seem that veterans are more worthy of grace than the average man.
Thanks for an interesting read.

Thanks for the review and your suggestion. I chose a veteran because we have so many living on the streets in our town. I feel that anyone who fought and risked their life for ours is worthy of better treatment than they seem to get. I'm not saying that others aren't deserving, but today at this moment, a veteran was on my mind.
Thank you so much. Carol

This is phenomenal! You have done a superb job with this spiritual fiction challenge. It should be known as a tribute to homeless and troubled veterans, everywhere. Maybe you can seek to publish it in Guideposts or another Christian magazine? This is something everyone should read, especially believers; it clearly reflects the attitude of Christ toward the poor and downtrodden in our world. Very well written, with great understanding and truth!

Mary Kay... It's wonderful to see your smiling face and the awesome review you've honored me with. I feel as if my life is in a shaker and it won't stop moving. Thank you so much for your kindness and the stars. I appreciate it beyond words and this time I get to tell you that on time. LOL
Hugs, Carol

Yes, Carol, you sure did! I also had no idea that you were the author, but in retrospect, it doesn't surprise me. I don't have nearly as many people in my life as you do, but I also have that terrible sense of disordered living. I pray a lot! You're still in my prayers, my friend -- you and your family. May God bless you. Love, Mary Kay xoxo
