You're haunted by Schultz, at least in your story inspiration. My father also liked the show but could not understand how the actor who played Schultz could go from being a famous opera singer to such a silly character.

Debbie, This is a very cute poem. I remember that show and that man, but I didn't remember what he said until this poem. Thank you for sharing this. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

,Awe, Hogan's heroes. I believe they are the reason we won World War II! L. O. L. I love how you brought dad in on this because not only you and dad, but I loved the heroes as well. Old shows get ridiculed a lot these days and they probably deserve some negativity, but we can't hold yesterday's actions to today's standards. Rather than doing that, but we should try to do is apply the good concepts as you did in this wonderful rhyming poem. Great job sis.

Your story held together so well with each new incident-from your introduction "I know nothing." Great writing! Love, Verna -still praying against your pain.

You know Verna, you just made me feel so good that I swear it is better than any pain med. LOL. Thank you. The reason is because your opinion means the world to me, so thank you for one of the nicest compliments ever. You are a gem and I just love you to pieces. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my dear sister in Christ and true friend. Thanks for the honor of your six stars too, sweetheart. Love you lots! Debi

You are to me a gem and a dear sister in Christ, and I love you as well. I am so sorry for your pain in your ribs. I bruised some in a fall a few years ago, and I remember how difficult it was--and they weren't even broken. I have you on my prayer list with family and other friends, and I hope you're better every day! Big hugs! Verna

"He has to have a secret, cause he's doing something right." Of course Schultz was doing something right but the credit goes to the writers who wrote such a wonderful comedy. As a general rule, I honestly believe that many a times writers don't get the credit they deserve. They only see the actor (which is also important) behind the story.

Also, I like your insertion of what goes around comes around. The daughter was learning from the best--her mother!

Well written. You have such a good imagination. Best for the contest.

This was so very cute. I wish I had six stars to give you. I've seen that show a few times. In my house it was always me asking, "Who did this?". The response was always, "Nobody." So I named Nobody Fred the Ghost.

Monica, thank you very much. I'm sorry, can you explain Fred the ghost and the nobody thing to me. LOL, I wasn't sure what you meant.

I created "Fred the Ghost", so when I asked who did this and they said "Nobody", I would say, "Well, I guess Fred did it.". It got to where when I asked, they would say Fred did it. The thing was, it was usually the kid that did it that blamed Fred. Fred followed us on vacation, and even caught on in my classroom.

Hahaha! That is cute. Ok, cause I thought it had something to do with my poem. Thanks for clearing that up. Hugs!!

Oh my gosh, that's funny. Now you see how things come back around on you, lol. You get to hear your own words reflected out of the sweet innocent child n the corner. I wonder if it worked as well with Daddy as it did with Schultz?

Very cute,
Much love,
Rhonda

Maybe I should rebirth one I wrote, lol. It's pretty atypical, but may be worth trotting out again.

Much love and prayers for your recovery!

Well don't spend any money promoting it. After getting all these six stars on this one and the no no no one I did., Helen told me that they don't count at all for rating and ranks. So your new reviews don't count at all. What a bummer after spending all the money. Oh well lesson learned so hopefully you already knew it. But going on three years, I should have.
I would like to see one of your oldies tho. I will watch for it.
reply by davisr (Rhonda) on 07-Jun-2024
I didn't know that, either. I always thought they counted because if a person had already reviewed it, they couldn't again, and the new ones would count.

I'm always amazed at the way you can tell an interesting story in rhyme. I recognized the picture of Schultz, but my family never watched his TV show. I chuckled at the verse about pierced ears. My mom didn't believe in holes in your ears.

Your repetition poem spans a couple of generations which makes it extra humorous.

OMG I loved this show back in the day. I'm not sure it would be politcally correct today but it was funny then. Schultz was everyone's favorite and I can remember walking around immitating him as well. thanks for the memories.

Thank you for reposting this. I couldn't help but smile as I read. I am sorry I missed it the first time around, but very happy I caught it this time around. I happened to grow up watching Hogan's Heroes.
