Excellent love poem that shows how love takes time to grow. Excellent advice here. Your poetic form is smooth and flows like the ocean who arrives on shore and then retreats back. I like your line about butterflies who often flit away to savor other flavors. Vivid imagery here.

I like this love poem where the Speaker gives good practical advice about going slow in choosing a mate. I especially like these analogies: that love is a precious present that should be carefully unwrapped and love is like an intersection, not a one-way street. Rod

Nice post for the contest. Great advice. Love at first sight is a myth. It takes time for love to grow into real intimacy and commitment, as you so eloquently say. Well done.
